Meet the Players

Rick Rollins has been rolling dice since before he could ride a bike. His first adventure began at the family table when his dad gathered the kids, cracked open a rulebook, and ran his very first tabletop game. It was love at first crit.

​

Since then, Rick has leveled up in storytelling with every campaign, learning the art of worldbuilding, improvisation, and player wrangling from the best GM he knows—his dad. He’s played or run just about every RPG system in existence, making him the ideal Game Master for I Crit You Not.

​

As the show’s main host and GM, Rick handles everything from rule explanations to world narration, character creation help, and guiding listeners through new systems they might want to try at home. Whether you’re a brand-new player or a seasoned adventurer, Rick’s here to make the game make sense—and make it fun.

​

When he’s not behind the mic, Rick is a Nationally Registered Tactical & Critical Care Paramedic serving Tulsa, OK since 2016. He currently lives in Tulsa with his wife Raven, their son Rex, and their faithful hounds, LIzzo and Fiona.

Raven Rollins rolled initiative on podcasting back in 2019 when she launched The Sirens Podcast, diving deep into the world of true crime. After nearly six years navigating the darkest dungeons of real-life tragedy, she decided it was time for a new quest—one with more dragons, dice, and fewer real-life crises. Thus, I Crit You Not was born.

A console gamer since childhood (her starter weapon: a well-loved SNES controller), Raven didn’t discover tabletop RPGs until she met her husband and party leader, Rick Rollins. Married for over a decade, the two have been grinding XP together ever since.

Raven’s favorite classes are Rogue (something she could never be in real-life) and Druid (because shape-shifting into a giant bear is a vibe). She plays across all genres—fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and crime noir—and when she’s not rolling dice, she’s running the show behind the curtain.

Her character sheet includes: Executive Producer, PR Manager, Social Media Strategist, Web Designer, Audio Editor, and Chaos Coordinator. Basically, she’s multi-classed in everything except chill.

Simon Vaughn has been part of Rick’s party since the tutorial level—middle school. The two have been friends and co-op partners for decades, gaming side by side through campaigns, consoles, and caffeine-fueled late-night sessions.

​

Simon earned his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from East Central University, proving he’s got both creative flair and combat stats. He and his wife, Simone, have been adventuring together for over a decade. IRL, he was Rick’s EMT partner for several years—healing in the field by day, rolling d20s by night.

​

In addition to his role on I Crit You Not, you can catch Simon moonlighting on The Sirens Podcast, where he cohosts and runs his very own chaotic creature corner: Cryptids Unscripted with Simon Vaughn.

Just don’t ask him to explain Mothman’s motivations. He has theories.

Jack of All Trades, Lifelong Gamer
Rick and Jay's paths first crossed in college, diverged, and then converged again 20 years later—destiny clearly had plans. Jay's love affair with tabletop gaming began at the age of 10, and his first experience as a Game Master came when he told his 6-year-old brother, "There's a fork in the road," to which his brother responded, "I pick it up." That moment sealed the deal, and Jay has been hooked on the magic of tabletop adventures ever since.
 

Tabletop gaming is Jay's ultimate passion on this spinning rock hurtling through space. Beyond the table, he’s a true jack of all trades. Whether he's coding software, welding metal, playing chess, or training in strongman and sumo wrestling, Jay embraces life like a character min-maxing in a game—always seeking to cross-class and level up in new and unexpected ways.

Bill Shackleford may be new to I Crit You Not, but he’s no stranger to the Rollins realm. A past guest on The Sirens Podcast and Rick’s actual cousin, Bill brings serious “party member by blood” energy to the table—and it shows every time he rolls.

​

Off the battlefield, Bill is a lover of all things B (and proudly D-rated) in the world of horror and sci-fi. He’s a regular at horror conventions, always on the lookout for the next cult classic creature feature or low-budget alien invasion flick to champion.

​

He also holds formal training in Mass Communications, which he puts to use behind the scenes through his company, Spaghetti Sandwich Productions. Bill contributes to the podcast’s editing, creative direction, and overall vibe—helping keep things weird in the best possible way.

​

Whether he’s slaying monsters or monologuing about a forgotten VHS horror gem, Bill’s the everyman of our group. Grounded, unpredictable, and impossible not to root for, he’s a core part of the I Crit You Not party—on and off the mic.

Jean Gray joined Rick’s real-life party back in 2016 during their medic academy days, and the two have been questing side by side ever since. From field calls to fantasy campaigns, they’ve built nearly a decade of seamless teamwork—and she brings that same energy to every table she sits at.

​

Currently a badass Paramedic by day, Jean is also a console warrior, a dino devotee, and a proud pet mom who doesn’t need a saving throw to prove her independence. 

​

Whether she’s healing the wounded IRL or wrecking monsters in-game, Jean is equal parts heart and fire. Expect her to roll up with confidence, quick wit, and possibly a dinosaur fact locked and loaded.

Max is the kind of party member you call when things go sideways—and he shows up before you finish rolling initiative. A former Marine, now a paramedic and currently grinding his way through fire academy, Max has spent many long nights as Rick’s partner on the truck, making him a real-life frontline tank.

​

He’s not just part of the crew—he’s part of the family. The really weird, possibly chaotic-neutral side of the family. Max is a dad, a ride-or-die friend, and a guy who can switch from “let me stabilize this patient” to “let me stab this goblin” in record time.

​

We expect Max to bring some serious chaotic wild-card energy to our games—and we wouldn't have it any other way.

​

Just know: if the party needs backup, Max is already on his way. Probably shirtless. Probably yelling.

Simone Vaughn is proof that every good party needs a cool head, a sharp wit, and an undying love for penguins and anime. Originally from Ada, Oklahoma, Simone spent several years working as a phlebotomist in the fast-paced medical scene of Tulsa—often in the same high-volume EMS facility as their husband, Simon.

 

Whether drawing blood or drawing inspiration from their favorite shows, Simone brings thoughtful precision and unexpected flair to the table. They're the type of player who might heal you one round and summon something weird (but cute) the next—all with a calm, collected smile.
